Showcases. Trees & Wreaths

It's easy to get into the spirit of the season while walking among the Festival's winter wonderland of beautifully decorated trees and wreaths. Some are whimsical, some are contemporary, some are traditional - all are festive! You will be amazed and inspired by the creativity of the uniquely designed showcase displays, featuring a themed tree and wreath. Get ideas for decorating your tree or wreath.

Check out our Design page if you are interested in creating a showcase, tree or wreath.

Candy Cane Express Train

All aboard! Both children and adults love riding the Candy Cane Express, the Festival's four-car mini train. Complete with an engineer, conductor and crossing gates, the train winds its way through the center of the Festival.

Tickets are $1 per ride. Children age 2 and under ride for free. The train makes two loops around the Orr Building.

Centerpiece Silent Auction

More than 20 handmade centerpieces are featured in the Centerpiece Silent Auction. These one-of-a-kind designs are made by local florists, artists and crafters. All of the centerpieces can be bid on through silent auction during the Festival.

Visit the Centerpieces page if you are interested in creating a centerpiece.

More than 2,000 amateur and professional performers from the Springfield area provide entertainment during the Festival of Trees. Our entertainment stage features performances by local schools, church choirs and madrigal groups; country, ballet, tap and Irish dancers; bands and instrumentalists; and vocal soloists and groups.

Gingerbread Cookies

The sweet smell of delicious gingerbread cookies fills the air at the Festival of Trees. Using their secret recipe, Jubelt's Bakery and Restaurant in Litchfield, makes more than 15,000 hand-cut gingerbread men. Then our Festival volunteers decorate each cookie by hand, just for you.

The cookies are available at the Gingerbread Bakery during the Festival for $3.50 each while supplies last. Enjoy milk with your cookie for $1 a carton.

Peanut allergy concerns: Our gingerbread cookies are baked by Jubelt's Bakery in Litchfield, Illinois. While peanuts are not an ingredient in the cookies, the bakery does bake other products at the bakery that do contain peanuts.

Ingredient alert: Cookies contain wheat flour, sugar, spices, eggs and vegetable oil (soy bean). Icing contains sugar, palm oil, high fructose corn syrup, corn starch, nonfat milk and citric acid preservatives.

Gingerbread Village

The Gingerbread Village features a grand display of more than 50 handmade and entirely edible gingerbread structures. A model train also winds around the impressive exhibit of gingerbread homes, shops and buildings. All of the gingerbread entries can be bid on through silent auction during the Festival.

Children and adults are invited to create their own entry for the Gingerbread Village. Visit the Design page if you are interested in creating a gingerbread structure.

Holiday Kitchen

The Holiday Kitchen serves a variety of food and drinks and is open during regular Festival of Trees hours. Please note, the Holiday Kitchen is closed for food on Thanksgiving Day - only beverages will be served.

Little Elves' Workshop

The Little Elves' Workshop is a special place just for the little ones. Children can make mementos and crafts for themselves or as a holiday gift for someone special.
