Downtown Morgan Hill

"AMERICA: Red, White and YOU"

In the summer of 1776, the colonies had a series of Independence Day parades that accompanied the first readings of the Declaration of Independence, the first Independence Day parades! Even before the United States was the United States, a parade was to be marked as an ephemeral part of this country's founding celebration.

With over 130 entries including marching bands, equestrians, floats, and special guests there is fun for everyone. There is plenty of room throughout the 1.8 miles route on Main, Peak, Dunne Ave and along Monterey for families to place their chairs and blankets to watch. Don't forget the cool treat at the end of the parade for kids and kids at heart, sometimes they take a couple of minutes to get to everyone, but they are coming!

Morgan Hill Freedom Fest accepts nominations from the public for each year's Parade Marshal. In past years we have celebrated groups like essential workers, organizations such as All Animal Rescue & Friends (AARF), as well as individuals like Sobrato Principal Theresa Sage. In keeping with the theme America: Red, White and You.
