Dating back to its 1810 origin in Munich, Germany, it is time to raise a stein for Mohonk’s Mountaintop Oktoberfest! Beginning with our Tapping Ceremony and Cannon Commencement, this weekend of funfair puts forth a full display of German culture. Showcasing the best brews, wines, ciders, and spirits of the Hudson Valley and beyond, the mountaintop will ring with polka music, taste of German cuisine, and invite you into the heart of celebration.

Apfelstrudel Bites during Afternoon Tea

4:00PM - 5:00PM

Celebrate the season with a delicious nod to Oktoberfest during Mohonk’s beloved afternoon tea and cookies. Alongside our traditional offerings, enjoy bite-sized Apfelstrudel treats-flaky, spiced, and filled with apple goodness. It’s a cozy autumn twist on a classic Mohonk experience.

Parade of Breweries, Wineries, Cideries, and Spirits

4:00PM - 5:30PM

Follow the lively squeeze of an accordion and let the good times roll! Sip, sample, and stroll your way through a parade of breweries, wineries, cideries, and distilleries from the Hudson Valley and beyond. Raise a glass (or two) and toast to an afternoon full of flavor, music, and Oktoberfest cheer. No Fee. Must be 21 years old and have a valid ID to taste.

The Tapping Ceremony and Cannon Commencement

5:30PM

Usher in this weekend’s fanfare with our tapping ceremony, led by brewmaster James Walsh and Joe Dolan of Yard Owl Brewery. Make sure to grab a drink as we welcome Tom Smiley to fire Bert Smiley’s cannon in conjunction for our third Oktoberfest!

Dinner Special: Beef Rouladen with Potato Pancakes

5:30PM - 8:30PM

Take the parade down to the dining room where you can enjoy tonight’s signature German cuisine, top round roast beef rouladen paired with kartoffelpuffer (potato pancakes).

Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy

9:00PM

Comedic-juggler Hilby presents a powerful and spellbinding collage of superb technical skill and wacky comedy in the tradition of vaudeville. One cannot help but be charmed by Hilby’s impeccable timing and extreme circus skills. You can find him on top of Unicycles of all shapes and sizes, manipulating objects ranging from bowling balls to hedge trimmers. This hilarious and thrilling show is not to be missed!
