Petalpalooza
Celebrate spring at Petalpalooza®, for a full day of live music and engaging activities!
This day-long all-ages celebration brings art, music, and play to multiple outdoor stages, interactive art installations, a cashless beverage garden, family-friendly hands-on activities, roaming entertainers, and more, all along the banks of the Anacostia River. The evening is capped by the dazzling choreographed Official National Cherry Blossom Festival Fireworks show set to music starting at 8:30 PM.
This event is FREE and fun for all ages.

33rd National Japan Bowl
The National Japan Bowl is America's premier Japanese-language competition, created by Japan-America Society of Washington DC in 1992.
Each spring the Japan-America Society of Washington DC welcomes 200 of the country's top high school Japanese language students to the nation's capital for the competition. The National Japan Bowl is a high-level, high-intensity competition that tests students' knowledge of Japanese language and of the culture, history, and social context that bring the language to life.

9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Bridge District: Move and Bloom
Move and Bloom at Bridge District, a health and wellness-focused festival, will feature an array of free fitness activities, including yoga, HIIT and boxing classes from local exercise studios, a Cherry Blossom Bike Ride, free bike tune-ups, and a marketplace filled with local wellness-minded vendors. In partnership with FrayLife Rec, Sandlot Anacostia, Atlas Brew Works, The Washington Area Bicyclist Associate (WABA) and more.

10:00 am - 3:00 pm: Japanese Culture Day
Japanese Culture Day will feature family activities, including Japanese drum and traditional dance performances, storytelling, and arts and crafts from Japan. Children, families and teachers can learn about Japanese culture through reading, writing and craft-making with Japanese cultural and linguistic professionals. In connection with this event, Japanese-American author Misa Sugiura will present a book talk about her series "Momo Arashima" with focus on her research and incorporation of Japanese folklore, mythology, and legends into her middle grade fantasy novel. 11:00 am - 6:00 pm: Art Blooms
Celebrate the arrival of spring at Mosaic District's two-day festival, Art Blooms at Mosaic, in partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival. As cherry blossoms paint the season with their beauty, join us for a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and community.
In collaboration with URBNmarket and FRESHFARM, Mosaic transforms into a lively outdoor festival featuring: Over 110+ handmade and vintage vendors from URBNmarket. Fresh produce and treats from FRESHFARM's 60+ local vendors. Family-friendly activities, including a kids' game corner, petting zoo, cherry blossom-inspired arts and crafts, face painting, and painting stations.
Live music: Performances will take center stage on Strawberry Lane, featuring local bands/artists.
Tommy McFly returns to Mosaic as official Emcee.
Spring-themed Selfie Stations presented by Merrifield Garden Center.
Sip and Stroll: Sip on your favorite cocktail while shopping at Mosaic! Stop by participating locations to grab a drink and enjoy it on the go.

5K features 8,000 runners parading down Pennsylvania Ave., NW
10 Mile
10 Mile attracts 18,000 runners to the Washington Monument Grounds to run a course past all the prime blossom locations.

Kids Run features 600 Kids on Pennsylvania Ave.
Tidal Basin Welcome Area and ANA Stage
Witness peak bloom at the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC, while also experiencing entertainment representing Japanese, American, and other cultures!
Live performances among the blossoms at the Tidal Basin celebrate the longstanding friendship between the U.S. and Japan with a dynamic, cross-cultural mix of American, Japanese, and other performing arts. This year, we are expecting over 100 performances on the ANA Stage. Get ready to experience a variety of genres: Americana, Bluegrass, Country, Jazz, Pop, RandB, and Rock. Expect a diverse array of dance styles and performances, including Japanese, Eastern European, Colombian, Indian, Flamenco, Tap and Clogging, Zumba, and double dutch!
