National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign, celebrated by millions of neighbors across America. The first annual National Night Out started in August of 1984 and involved 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states. Since then, National Night Out has grown to become a celebration among neighbors to send a message of neighborhood camaraderie.

Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events with safety demonstrations and visits from emergency personnel. National Night Out provides neighbors and law enforcement with a great opportunity to build relationships and bring back a sense of community.
