Summertime, and the livin' ain't so easy in Mississippi in 1964. Freedom Summer workers struggle to register Blacks to vote, while on the country club side of town members of the White Citizens Council battle to preserve their "way of life." The dramatic events that put Meridian on the nightly news are played out in MERIDIAN SUMMER, a work of fiction based on historical events of the time sixty-one years ago, known as “Freedom Summer“.
