8:00 p.m: The Gesualdo Six
This Concert is made possible through the generous support of Erica and Vin Di Bona in memory of Jean Di Bona.

An evening of sublime choral artistry awaits with The Gesualdo Six, an award-winning British vocal ensemble celebrated for its impeccable blend and imaginative programming. This ensemble of the UK’s finest consort singers has captivated audiences worldwide for the past decade. The Gesualdo Six bring their talent to Newport with a program inspired by the ancient service of Compline, ushering in the darkness of the night and evoking a contemplative atmosphere. Works include Renaissance polyphony by Palestrina, Tallis, and Gesualdo that contain startling harmonic shifts and expressive word painting. Then there is a turning point; the light returns, birds sing, and flowers bloom once more, with reflections by Veljo Tormis, Franz Schubert, and Gerda Blok-Wilson.
