Come celebrate the 4th of July in Civic Center Park with music, food and fireworks.
Get ready to wave your flags and wear your red, white, and blue, because Palm Desert is pulling out all the stops for its star-spangled Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 4! This free, family-friendly extravaganza takes place at Civic Center Park, and it's the place to be for fireworks, food, fun, and music under the desert sky.
The party kicks off early with kid-friendly games and activities starting at 4 p.m. in the grassy area just behind the Family YMCA of the Desert. From face painting to lawn games, it’s the perfect pre-show playground for kids and parents to enjoy time together.
By 5 p.m., the air will be filled with the irresistible aromas of delicious eats as food trucks and vendors roll in, serving up crowd favorites from sizzling street tacos to sweet treats and cool drinks. Whether you're craving classic American comfort food or looking for something new to try, there’ll be no shortage of tasty options.
As the sun dips behind the mountains, the Swing Cats Big Band will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., bringing their high-energy mix of American swing and pop classics. Their lively sounds set the stage for a festive evening as we count down to the big show.
Then, at 9 p.m. sharp, the sky will erupt in a 20-minute fireworks spectacular, choreographed to a heart-pounding soundtrack of patriotic tunes. Tune your radios to Mix 100.5 FM or 98.5 The Bull to fully experience the musical magic as fireworks paint the night sky with bursts of red, white, and blue. It’s a dazzling display you won’t want to miss!
Bring your blankets, low chairs, and picnic baskets, just leave the alcohol, smoking, and barbecues at home. For everyone’s safety, golf carts and personal fireworks are not permitted in the park for the Palm Desert Independence Day celebration.
For those with sensitivities to loud noises, The City of Palm Desert will be offering a Sensory Safe Space during our Independence Day fireworks display from 8 - 9:30 p.m. at the Portola Community Center, 45480 Portola Road. Ear plugs will also be available at the event.
As a reminder, all personal fireworks are prohibited within the City of Palm Desert. This regulation helps keep our community safe during the 4th of July holiday. If you observe the use of illegal fireworks, please report it to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station using their non-emergency line at (760) 836-3215.
Celebrate freedom, community, and summertime fun with a night that’s sure to sparkle!
