Please join us Saturday, November 2, for a family-friendly 5k walk, run, roll, or stroll along the banks of the Pawtuxet River! Featuring 3 trestle bridges along the Coventry Greenway, a rail trail known as the Washington-Secondary bike path, enjoy views of the river, two majestic mills, and a jog through Anthony Historic District, on the National Register of Historic Places.
Feel the crisp autumn air at the starting line by Rice Memorial Field and take in beautiful foliage as the morning fog slowly rises off the still water of the pond before the water rushes over the dams at Laurel Ave and Clariant Falls. Celebrate the Pawtuxet River with us, just minutes from Route 95, in the historic village of Anthony.
All proceeds benefit the Pawtuxet River Authority and Watershed Council, which has been protecting, conserving, and restoring the Pawtuxet River and its watershed for over 50 years! We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization serving Cranston, Coventry, Scituate, Warwick, and West Warwick where the mainstem, south, and north branches of the Pawtuxet River flows. Our mission is to enhance water quality and wildlife habitats; create opportunities for public passive recreation; and promote the environmental, cultural and historic significance of the Pawtuxet River and its watershed.
Bib pick up will take place at Rice Field from 7am to 7:45am.
