Typically held each June, Carillon Historical Park's Rail Festival is a two-day family fun event featuring free miniature train rides, $5 rides on the full-scale Carillon Park Railroad, live steam engines, model train displays, historical displays, train merchandise, rail vendors, and much more.
Carillon Historical Park is home to BandO #1, John Quincy Adams (the oldest existing American-built locomotive), a Barney and Smith wooden parlor car, an Interurban, a train station, and more. Presented by the Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society, Rail Festival is a perfect complement to Carillon Historical Park's rail-themed artifacts, many of which are located in the James F. Dicke Family Transportation Center.
