Self(ie) Guided First Day Hike

Start 2025 off right at the Rock!

Hike any of our trails on January 1st, 2025 and take a selfie with something you see in the park that matches any of the following themes:

Change-  Example: New growth on an old oak tree, cut banks on a river where water used to flow, weathering and erosion of rock

Fresh Starts - Example: a fawn, eggshells from a bird's nest, newly sprouted plants, "new trail" signage

Preservation - Fenced off areas for ecological restoration, a rare species of plant, healthy animals, ecosystem with multiple plants/animals.

Show your selfie(s) to park staff at headquarters on your way out of the park before our office closes at 4:30 PM, and receive a First Day Hike sticker to wear home
