Our 2025 festival, The Gilded Age, views the world of late-19th and early-20th century America through the career of Marcella Sembrich and the opulence of the era. Join us as we explore the diverse music that mirrored the culture of the time – in a series of concerts, lectures and films, concluding with an elegant vocal recital rich with gems from Sembrich’s operatic repertoire – all performed by today’s finest concert artists.

Recipients of the prestigious Opus Award for 2019 Album of the Year, Skye Consort & Emma Björling perform trans-Atlantic arrangements of songs and tunes from Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Scotland, England, Québec, Acadia, the USA, as well as original compositions. Each musician brings their own individual interpretation to these traditions to create an extraordinary collaboration, consisting of voices, fiddle, nyckelharpa, cello, bouzouki, banjo, and percussion. Together they produce an assortment of whirling polkas, moving reels, passionate love songs, and breath-taking hymns and songs.
