Sligo-Dennis Avenue Park
10200 Sligo Creek Parkway

Join us on Saturday, May 3, 2025 for Sligo Creek Fest.  The annual event transforms the Sligo Creek Open Parkway into a one-mile street festival featuring multiple stages of music and entertainment, kids’ activities including touch a truck and tree climbing, roving entertainment, food and drink vendors, and hands-on activities and demonstrations from over 15 different Montgomery Parks groups.

Live Music and Entertainment

Main Stage

You won’t want to miss great live music at the Main Stage from the Brass Queens and Kristen & The Noise.

Brass Queens

Originating from Brooklyn, Brass Queens is an all-female brass band, showcasing female horn players and a sound heavily influenced by the New Orleans music tradition.

Kristen & the Noise

Kristen & The Noise is a 5-piece band from the Philadelphia area, fronted by the dynamic Kristen Kwolek— an electrifying singer with an unmatched voice and stage presence.

Parks Playhouse Jr. Stage

Located on the Parkway near Whitehall St., the Parks Playhouse Jr. stage features performances from The Uncle Devin Show and Rocknoceros. Both performers are part of the 2025 summer line-up for the Montgomery Parks Playhouse Jr. Series. The children’s entertainment series is a perfect opportunity for littles to enjoy immersive, kid-centric entertainment.

Rocknoceros

Rocknoceros has been entertaining fans throughout the county since 2005, performing their unique versions of children’s classics including performances at Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, and The Kennedy Center.

The Uncle Devin Show

The Uncle Devin Show is an interactive musical experience, taking children on a magical journey through the Land of Percussion. A 2022 GRAMMY nominee, Uncle Devin was born in Washington DC and was heavily influenced by the rhythms of Go-Go, as well as Jazz, Bossa Nova, and conscious Hip Hop.

Acoustics & Ales Stage

While strolling down the parkway, stop and check out music from Ted Garber. Ted is a genre-blending multi-instrumentalist with his ‘Blues Americana Rock’ style. Ted’s music is just a glimpse of the incredible local talent featured in our Acoustics & Ales outdoor happy hour series, held each spring and fall.

Ted Garber
