Save the date so you can join us for the 11th annual Soar on the Shore kite flying event organized by the Friends of Crescent Beach and the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce.

This free, family-fun event is not to be missed!

Crescent Beach in Algoma, WI is the place to be on Saturday, August 16, 2025! Official event hours are 11 AM – 3 PM, but feel free to set up your spot beforehand for prime enjoyment.  

The Wisconsin Kiters Club will fill the sky with awe-inspiring stunt kites, giant display kites, and a crowd-favorite candy drop (weather permitting). Professional teams Fire & Ice and Three Sheets will perform choreographed routines set to music. Spectators can also bring their own kites, or purchase on site, and enjoy flying in the designated public flying area.

Activities for All Ages:
Families can enjoy butterfly crafts with ArtBeet, Inc., balloon creations and face painting with Mischief and Magic sponsored by Fox Communities Credit Union, storytime with the Algoma Public Library, a maze of spinning kites, a spinner maze, plein air easels, and even a chance to handle reptiles with the Peninsula Reptile House.
