In a time when racial division was at an all time high in the U.S. Billy Eckstine broke barriers with his smooth baritone and iconic fashion. The Billy Eckstine Band had very prominent artist in it such as Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Sarah Vaughan.
