The 16th annual Summer Playwrights Festival is now one of the largest staged reading festivals in the nation, with playwrights from across the country and around the world participating. Each reading is followed by a talk-back with the playwright and director. All play readings will be held at the Road Theatre’s Magnolia Theatre at the NoHo Senior Arts Colony.

Schedule of Events:

8:00 PM: Kaiju by Dan Caffrey
Directed by Ryan McRee

Two 250-foot-tall monsters debate the morality of the destruction they just caused. A group of human theatergoers argues after the play they just watched. Destruction becomes conversation and conversation becomes destruction in this satire of monster movies, post-show talkbacks, and both the power and self-cannibalization of live theatre.
