The Canandaigua Mile

Canandaigua NY City Pier

The Canandaigua Mile is a competitive one-mile running race in the heart of the city. This event will showcase our local businesses and raise awareness for water quality in Canandaigua Lake. Our business district plays a vital role in our small town economy, and Canandaigua Lake has experienced increased occurrences of harmful algae blooms in recent decades. These blooms have produced toxins, impaired drinking water, and reduced local tourism. We are hosting a one-mile running race, a post-race party with our sponsors, and a lakeside cleanup to bring attention to water quality issues, raise awareness for our local businesses, and to bring our community together. Hope to see you there!
