The Hootenanny 100k

Sunday, Oct 7, 2018 at 5:00am

6737 Bristle Cone Ct

Nestled below looming Lolo Peak and above the floor of the Bitterroot Valley, you will find Montana’s only 100k trail run, the Hootenanny. With approximately 11,000′ of climbing this five lap course is perfect for a debut 100k attempt and seasoned veterans. The course follows pristine single track trail designed, built, and maintained by the land owner and can only be used during race weekends. Views of the Bitterroot mountains and high banked turns make this a wonderful trail run whether your eyes are up or down.

But enough of the course description! It wouldn’t be a Hootenanny without a party! Due to the looping nature of the course runners are never far from the next festive aid station. With all the food, music, and potential spontaneous dance parties, you may find yourself running faster just to get back to the aid station.
