The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts started four decades ago and is a highlight of the Parchment summer that draws together neighbors, friends, family, and visitors. Join us for food, music, tradition, and activities that make the Festival such a vibrant celebration of community!

Outdoor Community Theatre

The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts has a history that is as captivating as the plays staged at the park during its 40 + years. And it began in the summer of 1982 simply as “a play in the park and a passion”.

9 AM – 3 PM - Arts & Crafts Show

A Kindleberger Summer Festival highlight, the Arts and Crafts Show features homemade, one-of-a-kind original works created by artisans and craftspeople throughout Michigan and beyond. We welcome select artists to gather in lower Kindleberger Park and sell their wares, a wide variety of handmade media, wood crafts, jewelry, paintings, candles, photography, and more! Local food vendors and hometown hospitality add flavor to this already spectacular event. Come, Browse, Shop, and Buy! Bring the family for a fun-filled day that all will enjoy!

5K Race & Fitness Walk

The Kindleberger Summer Festival 5K and Fitness Walk will start our Festival Day at 7:30 am. The annual run/fitness walk has become an integral part of the Kindleberger Summer Festival as hundreds of participants at all levels and abilities join this invigorating Festival Day event! Starting in beautiful Kindleberger Park, the 5K course winds through the tree-lined streets of the City of Parchment, bringing runners and walkers back to the finish line in lower Kindleberger Park where participants can then join in the fun of the Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts! It’s a great way to get the entire family involved. Join us on July 13th!

10am - 2pm - Kindleberger Summer Festival Car Cruise-In

The Kindleberger Arts is happy to bring back to the Festival Day schedule an event for all classic car enthusiasts! Located in beautiful Kindleberger Park, the Car Cruise-In is a family-oriented event offering an open cruise-in, music by DJ Jon Morris, and plenty of delicious food and refreshing beverages for purchase from Galesburg Meat Company.

DASH PLAQUES for the first 100 cars!

Whether you are a classic car owner or a car enthusiast this event is for you! Enjoy strolling through the vintage vehicles and comparing makes, models, and memories at this FREE event!

Entrance to the park for participating cars is at Park Ave and Orient St. No entry until 9 am.
