Join us Saturday, February 1 at 10 am on Whitney Avenue to ring in the Lunar New Year with our lion dance parade. After the parade, attend workshops, performances, and more at our partner venues.
Lunarfest is Connecticut's largest annual Lunar New Year celebration. Featuring a traditional lion dance troupe, local artists, and local organizations, the annual festivities are full of learning, culture, arts, and fun.

Lion Dance Parade
10:00 am - 11:30 am: Whitney Avenue between Grove and Trumbull
Join us for the parade down Whitney Avenue to ring in the Year of the Snake. The parade will begin at the intersection of Whitney Avenue and Grove Street and move north. Our showstopper featuring speeches from local leaders, the traditional lion dance performed by the Wan Chi Ming Hung Gar Institute, and performances by Yale's Red Lantern, Yale Club Wushu, and the Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy will take place in front of Katalina's and Hong Kong Market.
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Chinese Zodiac Scavenger Hunt in the Whitney-Audubon Retail and Arts District
Pick up a clue list at the Lunarfest info tables in front of Steamed (77 Whitney Ave). Find all 12 Chinese zodiac animals in select Whitney-Audubon Retail and Arts District's storefront windows to win a prize! First 100 participants to bring their list back to the info tent with each of the 12 animals correctly matched to their representing stores win a voucher for a free cookie, cupcake, or drink. Limit one voucher per family. All other participants who correctly complete the hunt will receive candy while supplies last.
