3:00 PM - 5:00 PM: The Dirndolls

Dirndolls are an Alpine folk band made up of women and people of marginalized genders. The name, “Dirndolls,” is a play on the word for the traditional Bavarian women’s dress, “Dirndl.” Depending on the event, we make appearances as duos, trios and quartets. The most exciting iteration is our full 7 piece ensemble featuring accordion, clarinet, saxophone, violin, trumpet, trombone and tuba. We specialize in folk music from the Alpine regions of Europe, and also have fun incorporating covers of pop tunes. Hope Arthur, the founding member of Dirndolls recognized that the genre of Alpine folk was very male dominated and dreamed of starting a band that featured musicians of more diverse identities. Thus Dirndolls were born.
