All Cyclists Welcome:

Any casual or avid biker can get to know both during the Wheelin’ to Wall recreational ride (not a race) event that takes place every September on National Public Lands Day. Event headquarters are in Wall, SD.

Schedule:

7:00 AM – 10:00 AM:

Packet Pickup, 511 Glenn Street, enjoy Dark Canyon coffee and famous Wall Drug doughnuts, and ham it up at the photo booth.  Kick back and enjoy your morning.

8:00 AM:

Long Gravel Grinder soft start. Aid Stations are open for this course only.

8:10 AM:

Shuttle Alert:  Vehicle drivers riding the Thirty Something must be driving to the Ben Reifel Visitor Center parking lot in Badlands National Park. You will need a minimum of 45 minutes’ drive time taking I90 to exit 131, then take Hwy 240 to visitor center. Be sure to leave your bike at packet pickup!!

8:45 AM:

Shuttle Alert: Vehicle drivers riding the Full Forty must be driving to Badlands Trading Post on the south side of exit 131. You will need a minimum of 25 minutes’ drive time taking I90 to exit 131. Be sure that you leave your bike at packet pickup!!

9:00 AM:

Shuttle Alert:  Shuttle for Thirty Something departs from Ben Reifel Visitor Center to Wall for Mass Start.

9:20 AM:

Shuttle Alert:  Shuttle for Full Forty departs from Badlands Trading Post gas station near exit 131 to Wall for Mass Start.

10:00 AM:

Mass Start for all riders.

10:00 AM:

All Aid Stations are open on all 4 courses.

1:00 PM:

Aid Stations for Thirty Something, Full Forty and Short Gravel Grinder will close.  Long Gravel Grinder self-serve Aid Stations will remain open ’til 5:00.

6:00 PM:

Pedal Parade Preparation:  Now it’s time to light up your bike for the bike parade.  Glow sticks provided.  Bring your own special lights and reflective gear as well.  Meet at Wall School Power House, 511 Glenn Street, to light up your bike for the “Pedal Parade of Lights”.

7:00 PM:

Pedal Parade of Lights:  This is a 3 mile ride around town.  Start location is on the north side of the Wall School Power House, 511 Glenn Street (packet Pickup).

Course Info:

Distances cater to all interests and abilities with courses on pavement 31 or 38, or a gravel (mixed surface) for 35 or 68-mile ride.

All courses are fully supported with aid stations and SAG support. Shuttle service is available. Bring your friends or make new ones, and ride the best of the Badlands. E-bikes are welcome on all courses. Continue to be a part of South Dakota history. WHEELIN’ TO WALL is the only annual cycling event to be held in the South Dakota Badlands.
