Immerse yourself in the world of tea for a full day! Sample unique herb and tea blends while learning about the history of tea traditions. Explore the culture and politics of tea leading up to the eve of the American Revolution.

Schedule of Events:

9 a.m. 

Meet & Greet at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. 

9:30 a.m.

Giving a nod to France as an ally in the American cause, Andrea Post, co-owner of CaryTown Teas in Richmond, will lead the morning with a keynote address exploring French tea culture, tea blending , tea scenting, and France’s unique heritage and contribution to the global world of tea.

10:30 a.m. 

Break

10:45 a.m.

Breakout Session One - Half of the Tea Festival attendees will customize their own unique tea blend to take home, while the other half will meet a local beekeeper and discover what it takes to produce tea’s favorite sweetener—honey.

12 to 1 p.m.

Enjoy your own packed lunch or choose box lunch options which will be delivered from Carrot Tree Kitchens. 

1 p.m.

Breakout Session Two - Participants will switch activities from Session One, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience both crafting a personalized tea blend and learning firsthand from a beekeeper about honey production.

2 p.m.

Explore the galleries and outdoor living history areas of the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and learn about tea during the American Revolution.

3 p.m. 

Join Abigail Adams as she 'spills the tea' on interesting people she's met and other memorable moments from her travels. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy conversation, a bit of history, a hint of scandal, and delicious modern tea blends with the second First Lady.
