Arvada Skate Park

12920 West 72nd Avenue

Construction for the park began in the spring of 2011 and the City of Arvada held its grand opening in June of 2012. Team Pain, a skate park design/build company based in Florida, designed  and built the skating surface, which exceeds 40,000 square feet. Most of the workers on the skate park project are Colorado residents. Urban Farmer, a local company, completed the park infrastructure and other components that make this venue a top-spot in the state. The development and planning of the skate park included considerable public input, and the team worked for five years to make this project a reality. Through the tireless fundraising efforts of the skate park committee and grants from the Colorado Lottery, Great Outdoors Colorado, Jefferson County Open Space, the Tony Hawk Foundation and other donors, the $2.1 million price tag to build the facility was raised. The Arvada Skate Park is considered the first phase in the development of the Gibbs West Community Park.
