Welcome to the Audubon Society of the Capital Region. We are the local chapter of the National Audubon Society, dedicated to the protection, conservation and enjoyment of birds, wildlife and the environment in the Capital Region of New York State. Our mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity.

We are dedicated to protecting nature and connecting with others using the combination of science, education, and the restoration of our local wildlife habitats.

Did you know that birding is one of the most popular outdoor activities in America? According to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, there are currently 48 million birders in the United States alone! There are many ways you can get involved:

Attend one of our monthly meetings!
· You can network with other nature lovers and enjoy our educational program with stimulating environmental and wildlife related topics.
· Meet friends who have experience with the birding basics and will help you understand what to look for, where to look, and how to listen.

Join us for a Field Trip!
No experience required. You only need these items for a bird watching experience:
· Binoculars
