Facility:
Ice Arena facility constructed in 1974 with an addition added on in 1979. Owned by the Municipality of Anchorage and managed by SMG.
Two 200' long by 85' wide ice surfaces using a common 210-ton direct refrigeration system. Both rinks have complete hockey dasher systems with plexi-glass and tempered safety glass.
Four wet locker rooms with full restroom facilities
Two dry locker rooms (dressing accommodations only)
Ice Rental Price - $350 per hour
Espresso and Coffee Shop managed by building.
Concession Stand
Seating Capacity for 1000 spectators at Rink 1, 100 spectators at Rink 2
Staffing:
One full-time ice arena manager, one full-time maintenance technician, one full-time office assistant, part-time staff consisting of rink attendants, janitors, concession workers, learn-to-skate instructors.
Facility Users:
Facility is utilized by 10 various youth hockey organizations, two figure skating clubs, four adult hockey associations, and an in-house adult hockey recreational league consisting of approximately 116 teams. This in-house program is managed by SMG of Alaska and is one of the largest in the nation. An in-house learn-to-skate program managed by SMG of Alaska also utilizes this facility, along with general recreational skaters, which attend various public skating sessions offered on a weekly basis.
