About Us:

Country Sun Farm is a family business dedicated to providing your family with top quality products and a family-friendly environment.

Started by Richard and Eileen Bergmann in 1975, and continued by their three sons, Keith, Chad and Troy Bergmann, Country Sun Farm has remained a family owned business. You may also see the next generation helping out around the store as Madison, Dillon, Alison, Kaylee and even new addition Brooke can often be seen helping with the care of flowers, or with the bringing in of the next crop.

Richard and Eileen built their first greenhouse behind the modern facility that is used for retail sales. At the time, both of them had jobs off the farm, and starting a new business was no easy proposition. At first, all of their flowers were wholesaled to other greenhouses in the area, but as word spread, customers literally started knocking on the door to buy these gorgeous plants right from them. Along with flowers, in the early days, there was also pick your own strawberry and raspberry fields, and sweet corn available during the summer.

Of course, each fall there was always plenty of pumpkins available as well. With the first pumpkin sales being made out of wagons right at the end of the driveway, where our current business now resides.

In 1984, the decision was made to build a retail garden center, and by the spring of 1985, our store located on highway 36, just west of Manning Ave., was completed and open for business. Shortly thereafter came an end to the strawberry and raspberry fields as more space was needed to grow our fall crops.

The Christmas season was also added, with its handmade wreaths and premium Christmas trees. Over the years, many additions have been made, and the business continues to evolve.

Along with our retail sales, Country Sun Farm also raises hundreds of acres of corn and soybeans, sells a line of agriculture seed products, and custom farms for other farmers in the Stillwater area, and western Wisconsin.
