Eastville Point Beach

This small beach is virtually unknown to many people but it has a dedicated following that can easily fill up the small parking lot on a hot summer day.  The waves at this beach are usually small except during strong north to northeast winds.  Even on those days, however, calm seas prevail on the beach immediately adjacent to the drawbridge.

Eastville Point Beach is a popular place to view sunsets and the ever busy Vineyard Haven Harbor.

Unlike the other beaches managed by the County, Eastville Point seems to be stable and is not eroding.

Eastville Point Beach supports a variety of nesting shorebirds, from the Federally Threatened piping plover, the State-listed Species of Special Concern least tern and the American oystercatcher.  Their nesting success varies from year to year.
