Established in 1922 Forest Lawn is a place of beauty and serenity, with more than 200 acres of well-cared-for lawns, flowering shrubs, stately trees and wooded forest. Our Garden Chapel Mausoleum is one of the finest in the nations. And Forest Lawn offers families a wide choice of memorialization.
Forest Lawn is the oldest and largest all-perpetual-care cemetery in Virginia. It has total assets of more than six million dollars, funds that will ensure continuing care of its roads and grounds. Its employees are dedicated to the care and improvement of its landscape, buildings and grounds. They take justtifiable pride in Forest Lawn's reputation as one of the best cared-for cemeteries in the nation.
Forest Lawn has initiated an ambitious program that will carry forth its record of accomplishments in landscaping well into the 21st century. 1988 Marked the beginning of our Arboretum. Collections of beautiful shrubs and trees were planted throughout our 200 acre park, providing a continuing show of natural beauty throughout the year. Forest Lawn may be the first cemetery in the United States to become a registered associate of Botanical Gardens and Arboretums of America.
