For more than a century, the gardens of the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America have been an oasis of peace. Often called one of Washington’s best-kept secrets, the beautiful gardens – formal rose and flower beds and park-like gardens interspersed with replicas of Holy Land shrines – were designed and nurtured by Franciscan friars starting more than a century ago.
