The Garden Club of McKeesport was founded in 1936, providing an opportunity for members to learn and enjoy the pleasure of gardening while maintaining the current 3 ½ acre public garden. The rose garden is the central focus of the horticultural displays. In 2012 our rose garden was named one of the Top Ten AARS Public Rose Gardens in the United States and is currently the second largest rose garden in Pennsylvania. The total garden space however is more than just rose and includes perennials, a water pond, herb garden and butterfly garden.

Annual activities begin in April with the rose pruning and continue throughout the garden until mid-November. Volunteers do all the gardening chores.

Funding is realized through the generosity of donations from caring benefactors and numerous plant and craft sales.

The garden provides an enchanting setting for weddings and photographic opportunities.

The Garden Club also maintains a 2-story clubhouse where we have our meetings and host workshops, as well creation floral crafts for sale, hosting luncheons and teas.
