Indy Winter Farmers Market

The Indy Winter Farmers Market (IWFM) was founded in 2008 by Growing Places Indy Executive Director Laura Henderson. IWFM was created to provide an urban venue to directly connect farmers and producers to the community and foster personal relationships in the exchange of fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, baked goods, herbs and natural products while promoting access to local, healthy food for all. After being privately ownded for several years, IWFM was approved as a program of Growing Places Indy by our Board of Directors in 2012. Currently, IWFM is run by Market Manager Sarah Adams.

The IWFM has three primary goals:

-To provide a venue for Indiana’s sustainably minded family farms and small batch food producers to sell their products.

-To improve our community’s access to local, fresh and nutritious food.

-To create an environment that raises awareness of how choices we make every day affect our health, our communities, the economy and the environment.
