We will be offering field trip opportunities to our farm this fall. Our family has been a part of this community since 1884 when John Johnson purchased the farm one mile west of Sycamore, Illinois. This centennial farm supported 4 generations of farm families. In the history of this working farm; corn, soybeans, oats, and hay have been harvested. In addition, beef cattle, dairy cows, swine and chickens have all been raised here. For the past 26 years we have been welcoming visitors to our farm for home grown sweet corn, pumpkins and fall produce. Fourteen years ago, we added a fall corn maze for all to enjoy.
The last decades find more and more families losing their connection to agriculture. As farmers, we would like to share and educate visitors on the “roots” of agriculture. Our goal is to support the importance and image of agriculture. We believe agriculture sustains and enhances every life. We want to encourage a better understanding of where our food comes from, how the products are planted, maintained, harvested, and made available at markets and stores.
