Keowee-Toxaway State Park

108 Residence DR

Withsome of the most stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains South Carolina has to offer, Keowee-Toxaway State Park is truly one of South Carolina’s pretty places. The Jocassee Gorges Visitor Center exhibits and information serve as a gateway to the Jocassee Gorges.

Two hiking trails in the park take visitors over a natural bridge and through the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, land once traveled by Cherokee Indians. A short, half-mile trail leads to Lake Keowee where guests can enjoy fishing for bass, bream, crappie and catfish.

This is a small park so it's nice and quiet. They don't have trash receptacles so be prepared to carry it out. There are a couple of hiking trails starting at the main entrance with plenty more with a short drive.

I think Ranger Jonathan is the bees knees. Great campground, very quiet. No trash bins so you have to find another way to dispose of your trash.

I enjoyed my camping trip at Keowee Toxaway State Park. The site I was on was ok. I wish the pad had better drainage because a quick storm came through and left a portion of my tent in a puddle. Also if there was a central trash drop off some where on the way out that would have been great so I wouldn't have had to take my trash all the way home. For the price and location in close proximity to Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee, I can't really complain too much. The site was also clean and so was the bath house.

Love this place! Small but great. There is only about 24 camping spots. The tent camping is perfect. Park even when full is quiet.
