About Us:
Kirby's Farm Market was built in 1970 by brothers George and Bob Kirby. The business started out as a way to sell their homegrown fruits and vegetables directly to the public. In 1989 the market was passed on to George's son Timothy Kirby, and his wife Linda.
Over the decades the market has grown from a one room garage-style building to a cozy market. First a gift shop was added, with a focus on American-made products. When manufacturing started moving over seas, we began sourcing locally crafted gifts from our neighbors in New York.
In 1990, a small greenhouse was built onto the market, offering a few popular annuals and hanging baskets. Eventually our greenhouses grew to the large facility you see today, housing thousands of beautiful annuals in the Spring. Our Perennial area expanded from a few dozen different types to the hundreds of interesting varieties you'll find at our market today. Then we extended our season into December, offering Christmas trees, wreaths, and Poinsettias. And finally, our latest addition, a was Community Supported Agriculture program added in 2011 .
No matter how our business evolves, a few things stay the same. Our family works together to keep everything running smoothly! While Tim is working in the fields, his wife Linda manages the market, daughter Jaime specializes in Perennials, son Chad helps on the farm, and daughter Stacey manages the website. They all pitch in to help wherever it's needed.
Our dedication to quality fruits and vegetables never wavers; our standards are very high, from what we pack in our CSA, to every item you'll find on our market tables. We truly care about what we do, and what our customers think.
