Tucked away on a cul-de-sac street in the Upper Kirby District, Levy Park has blossomed under the care of the Upper Kirby Management District's Adopt-A-Park agreement with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD).

Since adopting the park, The Upper Kirby Management District has shown their dedication to the upkeep of Levy with a two-phase renovation project. Phase I, completed in 2003, included the construction of a community garden and gathering space on the north end of the park.

Phase II improvements have added a new playground with a fall surface, an arbor with new benches and picnic tables, a new granite gravel walking trail, fresh landscaping with raised planters and a rebuilt parking area with drainage and lighting improvements.

An event to celebrate the completion of the Phase II improvements was held on Saturday, September 30, 2006. The event celebrated the efforts of the Upper Kirby Management District and Intown Chamber of Commerce and commemorated Leon Levy's original donation of the parkland to the City of Houston.

Additional improvements at Levy Park include HPARD's newest dog park and a softball field. The dog park provides a fenced area where pet owners can allow their canines to exercise off-leash under their supervision. The softball field is situated in the middle of Levy Park.
