Oberg and LeVeaux Mountain trails are spur trails off the Superior Hiking Trail. Both begin at the same parking lot on opposite sides of the Onion River Rd. They require some steeper switchback climbs to beautiful views of the Sawtooth Range and Lake Superior. Listen for black throated blue warblers in the spring, and look for beaver activity in Oberg Lake. The maples here are a distinct ecosystem, and harbor a variety of plants not common on the rest of the forest, as well as supplying spectacular fall color. Campsites are located along the Superior Hiking Trail
