About Us:

In December 1999, a group of dedicated birders and community-minded environmentalists formed Sonoran Audubon Society (SAS) in the West Valley communities of metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. In June 2000, SAS became a chapter of the National Audubon Society.

Sonoran Audubon’s mission is to educate its members and the community at large about all wildlife (with an emphasis on birds), habitats, and the beauty and importance of the many complex interactions that make for a healthy environment. We encourage everyone’s involvement in the conservation, preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems and biological diversity.
