The Talbot County Community Center is one of the premier sports venues on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Multiple athletic fields, which surround a state-of-the-art facility, are home to a variety of community activities.
Our facility has an ice rink in the winter months and roller skating rink in the summer months, dedicated curling rink, skate rentals, concession stand, game room, television monitors, and several rooms for conferences/receptions. Whether you are planning your next family outing, business meeting, or friendly gathering, you will find our facility and fields to be of the standards you typically find visiting Maryland's finest resorts.
Trade shows and special community events which could involve local cultural activities are held regularly at our facility. The annual Waterfowl Festival festivities, for example, are part of the historic significance of this venue by hosting the Guyette & Schmidt's annual decoy auction.
Located just minutes north of Easton, Maryland, the Talbot County Community Center is the home of the Eastern Shore Hockey Association, Talbot Figure Skating Team, Tidewater Digital Camera Club and the Chesapeake Curling Club. We offer public ice skating, Jamie Webb Youth Hockey Program, group ice skating lessons, private ice rink rentals, and room rentals which would be ideal for your corporate or private event whether it is a business meeting, wedding, reception, anniversary party, or fundraiser.
During the renovation of our Talbot County Community Center we implemented several measures to ensure public safety including installing sensors to monitor air quality in the ice arena. These sensors detect harmful contaminates twenty four hours a day. The air system units connected to our HVAC systems automatically remove harmful air while replacing it with fresh air on demand. We also have the ability to manually perform this process if needed. Additionally, our Zamboni is tested annually for contaminates. We have passed all routine inspections. Our equipment, staff training, and technology is more advanced than many rinks in the Delmarva area.
