History:

True Blue is a third generation family farm (with the fourth generation helping out...they're a bit young yet!) that has been farming continuously in the Bangor area since the late 1800's.

The farm originated as a dairy farm located about 1 mile from the current location.  As the dairy grew, a second farm was purchased.  It is this second farm that is the home of True Blue today.  The farm gets it's name from the slate vein, True Blue, that runs through the area and was quarried locally at one time.

The original dairy farm eventually transitioned to a production agriculture crop farm, and then to a beef/hay operation.  In the early 1990's, we planted our first pumpkins on a small scale.  We now grow almost 6 acres of pumpkins and fall gourd varieties plus about 2 acres of vegetables.

The largest building on True Blue Farm is a Pennsylvania ramp barn that was built in the early 19th century and has been in continuous agricultural use ever since.  The farm house was built in 1871.
