CATSWomen is a volunteer-led group that offers a welcoming environment for women of all ages and abilities to gain confidence in the outdoors through Champlain Area Trails.
Check out this 8-mile out-and-back trail in Ticonderoga, New York. Explore a beautiful and quiet part of the trails in the Adirondacks- a true hidden gem. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, this hike takes an average of 5 hours to complete. Begin from the Putnam Pond Trailhead near the campground and travel along the southern end of the pond. You will pass Mud Pond and then begin climbing up towards Treadway Mountain. Enjoy the view from the top of nearby lakes and surrounding mountains. The elevation gain is 1,341 feet.

TIME: Meet at the trailhead at 8:45 am for a 9:00 am start. This hike should take about 5 hours.
WHAT TO BRING: Be prepared for the start of cold weather hiking with warm layers, lots of water, & some snacks.
