Join us for the Escalante Canyons Art Festival, Come celebrate the stunning public lands of Utah’s canyon country. Hosted in Escalante, Utah along Scenic Byway 12 between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks in the heart of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Plein air and studio competitions, art exhibits, on-site sales, workshops, demonstrations, arts and crafts fair, live music, guided walks, and much more.

7:00 am - Jim Wodark: Composing Southwestern Landscape
Jim will be demonstrating his approach to composing and painting the beautiful Southwest landscape. He will touch upon how he designs paintings and how to use shape, value, color, edges and other tools to create great paintings.

9:00 am – 1:00 pm - Constance Lynn: Medicine At Our Feet
On this walk along the Escalante River we will open our awareness to the plants as our relatives and allies in healing and discover what it means to truly have medicine at our feet. 

Location: Meet at the Escalante River Trailhead at the Bridge (Hwy 12).

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm - Lonny Granston: Paint Together on Smokey Mountain Road
A 10 minute drive south of town on 2 wheel drive Smokey Mountain road takes us to the northern boundary of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument where we will draw the attractive butte just to the east. Littered with boulders and topped by cliffs dotted with junipers, it is an enticing subject to draw. In late September, it has great shadows before 11 am and after 3pm.
