First Day Hikes is a national-led effort that encourages individuals and families to experience, with a seasoned guide, the beautiful natural and cultural resources found in the outdoors and in doing so may inspire them to take advantage of these treasures throughout the year and an individual’s lifetime. Nature has been proven to boost our moods and make us feel healthy and exploring the outdoors is the perfect way to start the new year.

Location: Join us for a guided hike and nature journaling at Gould Loop Trail in Humboldt Redwoods State Park at 2:00 PM! We will meet in front of the Visitor Center

Parking: Please use the Visitor Center parking lot. Free parking and no fee for park entrance.

What to Expect: This free program is about 45 minutes to an hour on the Gould Loop Trail, a 0.4-mile ADA accessible trail.

Length of Hike: 0.6 mile, 1 hours

Preparation: Plan ahead and prepare! Make sure to dress in layers, bring plenty of snacks, water, and appropriate hiking shoes.
