First Day Hikes is a national-led effort that encourages individuals and families to experience, with a seasoned guide, the beautiful natural and cultural resources found in the outdoors and in doing so may inspire them to take advantage of these treasures throughout the year and an individual’s lifetime. Nature has been proven to boost our moods and make us feel healthy and exploring the outdoors is the perfect way to start the new year.

Location: Guided walk on the Redwood Access Trail in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. Meet in front of the Visitor Center.

Parking: Visitor Center parking available or along Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway.

What to Expect: ADA accessible guided walk on the Redwood Access Trail. Join us for a leisurely 0.5 mile stroll!

Length of Hike: 0.5 mile, 1 hours

Preparation: Plan ahead and prepare! Make sure to dress in layers, bring plenty of snacks, water, and appropriate hiking shoes.
