The Moore County Marathon and Half is part of the Sandhills Running Club "Miles 4 Moore" race series. The "Miles 4 Moore" race series is a charity run series that donates proceeds back to local community to support community wellness. The proceeds from this event will go towards funding gym memberships, coaching, and nutrition consultations for low-income families and diabetes patients. This supports our club's overall mission to "connect people to communities while building a wellness culture".
The route: Participants will enjoy a scenic route from the Sandhills Community College (SCC) around Reservoir Park, Whitehall Trail, out to Nick’s Creek and back to SCC. Marathon runners will complete this loop twice. There will be four well stocked aid stations along the route with water, Gatorade, and runners' snacks. Since the route is a loop, the four aid stations will provide eight stops along the marathon route. Registration will open 01 December 2024 and remain open through race day. The event will be open to runners, walkers, and ruckers/backpackers. The marathon has a 7-hour cut off time which is a 16:01 pace per mile.
