The National Repertory Orchestra is excited to announce the 2025 Summer Music Festival, Discover the NRO, which will take audiences on a musical journey inspired by the many reasons people are drawn to Summit County. From the pursuit of joy to the spirit of adventure, each concert will explore a unique facet of what makes Breckenridge-and the NRO-unforgettable.

Schedule of Events:

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Pop-Up Concert - Frisco Historic Park Gazebo

In partnership with various organizations across Summit County, the NRO presents free pop-up concerts performed by chamber groups in public spaces throughout Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, and Silverthorne. Held in locations beloved by residents and visitors alike, these intimate performances are thoughtfully programmed to bring live music into the heart of the community.

6:00 pm: Discover Resilience - Riverwalk Center

In Summit County, people come to test their resilience, pushing their limits and discovering strength through every ascent and trial. This inspiring evening of music celebrates the strength and determination within us to overcome even the greatest of challenges. The concert opens with Beethoven's Leonore Overture, a powerful prelude to his opera Fidelio. This overture tells the story of bravery, freedom, and perseverance, with dramatic contrasts and triumphant themes that mirror the resilience of its characters. The program continues with Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, a profound and emotionally charged work composed in the aftermath of Stalin's death. This symphony reflects the composer's own resilience in the face of political oppression, with moments of brooding intensity giving way to defiant energy and ultimate victory.
