Schedule of Events:

9:00am - 12:00pm: Texture in Abstract with Lynn amsterdam at Combs Studio

Creating interest through texture. From local store products to professional products learn to make your paintings interesting.

9:00am - 4:00pm: Watercolor Painting Beyond Basics with Mary Laury at SAFA Schoolhouse

Composition, value study, and placement will be discussed. This class will include painting from references of places you love, and perhaps painting outside when the weather permits.

1:00pm - 5:00pm: Open Woodturning Session with Mike Summerer - FULL at Summerer Studio

Unique projects. Prior woodturning experience or conversation with instructor recommended.

1:00pm - 4:00pm: Capturing Shadows: Paper and Fabric Cyanotype Prints with Katama Murray at SAFA Schoolhouse Tent

This workshop offers an introduction to the cyanotype printing process through photographic print methods. Participants will experiment with a combination of natural, foraged materials and manufactured objects to create a series of unique prints. Join us to learn the basics of capturing shadows through sun printing on both fabric and paper!

1:00pm - 3:00pm: Poster Art to Change the World! with Sonny Dean at Combs Studio

A fun mix of graphic arts, history of 1930s/WPA poster design, and social activism, this class teaches students how to create their own posters to drive the change they want to see in the world.

1:00pm - 4:00pm: Gyotaku Fish Printing with Diana Quinn at Winter Harbor Masonic Hall

Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form that began more than a century ago as a way to document the size of a caught fish. Sumi ink would be painted on one side of the fish, then the fish would be covered with rice paper and rubbed in order to create a very cool image.
