Smallville Festival kicks-off on the Third Thursday in June when Hutchinson, Kansas, officially changes its name to Smallville, Kansas; home of Clark Kent, better known as Superman.

Smallville Festival becomes a way for our community to celebrate what makes small-town living SUPER! This celebration focuses on small-town values like: traditions, hard work, grit, determination, and pride in where we live.

Smallville Festival June 20 - 22, 2024

Schedule:

Strataca - 8 a.m. — Test your super strength as you conquer the underground terrain of Strataca during the Smallville 5K! Feel the thrill as you race through winding tunnels and majestic caverns surrounded by the rich history of Smallville. So don your cape, lace up your running shoes and prepare for an unforgettable journey 650’ below the Earth’s surface! $45/person

Rice Park - 8 a.m. — Champions will rise and discs will fly at Hutch Rec’s 2nd annual Smallville Open Disc Golf Tournament! $15/person

Cosmosphere - 9 -5 p.m. — Participants will embark on an exciting, self-guided “race” throughout the Hall of Space Museum, solving clues, discovering artifacts, and possibly leaving with a major award. Registration is Free!

Kansas State Fairgrounds - 10-6 p.m. — Step into the extraordinary world of the inaugural Hutch Comic Con inside the Meadowlark Building at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.  Join us for a day filled with interactive experiences, where you can meet and engage with talented creators, immerse yourself in comic culture, and unleash your imagination like never before! This event is organized by NaCl Comic Cons with regular tickets priced at $5/adults, and $30/adult VIP ticket (15 & under receive FREE admission when accompanied by an adult!)

DCI Park - 1-4 p.m. — Dive in and discover all the parallels shared by Hutchinson and Smallville in the Downtown Smallville Scavenger Hunt! Are you familiar with Downtown Hutchinson? Then this event will be a breeze for you! But don’t worry if you’re new to the area — everyone is welcome to discover the Smallville Story for a chance to win a gift basket valued at $75! Registration is Free!

Kansas State Fairgrounds - 4-11 p.m. — Join us for the Festival Finale at Smallville Fair, Food, & Tunes! Admission is FREE. Enjoy live music, a movie on the Midway (Justice League,) fair food favorites, and Smallville Festival Announcements!
