5pm: Strings on Tap: Erinys Quartet

Raise a glass with us at The Barley, Steamboat's favorite watering hole! Join us as we celebrate our 37th summer with an evening filled with live music from Erinys Quartet and your choice of beers, spirits, cocktails, or wine. Voted Steamboat’s best bar in 2022 (and runner-up in 2023), The Barley is donating a portion of the event’s sales to support Strings.

The Erinys Quartet appears by special arrangement with Curtis on Tour, the Nina von Maltzahn global touring initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music. During the 2023-2024 season the Erinys Quartet performed concerts around the world, including the United States, Spain, Austria, and Finland.

Named for the Erinyes (a.k.a. the Furies) from the Greek tragedy Oresteia by Aeschylus, and with roots in Estonia, Lithuania, Greece, the United States
and Finland, the Erinys Quartet was founded in 2018 at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki where they worked closely with cellist Marko Ylönen. Since Autumn 2023 Erinys has been the Nina von Maltzahn String Quartet-in-Residence at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA (USA).
