Start 2025 off right with a dose of nature! This is a guided First Day Hike along the Old Entrance Road at Garner State. Park.

The hike will cover 2.25 miles starting at the Wildhorse Creek Trail, pass the old entrance then stop to enjoy the view at the Old Entrance Road Overlook before doubling back.

Meet at the group screen shelter parking lot in the Shadey Meadows Campground.

Once we leave Shadey Meadows there are no bathrooms or water fountains along the trail. Expect to be hiking for 1.5 hours.  

Bring: water, good hiking shoes, and a hat

All participants must remain with the guide throughout the hike as many of the trails will be closed due to construction projects in the park.
